Midwest Dairy is inviting students interested in dairy to apply to become Dairy Ambassadors in one of five Midwestern states: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. This program offers students leadership opportunities to connect with consumers, share their dairy stories, and network with peers and industry professionals.

To be considered, applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary school, communicate effectively in writing and speaking, and have a passion for dairy. Students do not need to be from a dairy farm, have dairy knowledge, or be an agriculture major to apply. They just need to be excited about dairy. Also, Nebraska high school juniors and seniors can apply for the Nebraska Dairy Ambassador program.

Ambassadors are expected to serve a one-year term from January 2025 to December 31, 2025. Accepted participants will have the opportunity to join in various activities, including interaction with consumers at local fairs and festivals, school presentations, and National Dairy Month events.

Ambassadors also can build their professional network at dairy industry meetings. All ambassadors are eligible to apply for up to a $1,000 scholarship at the end of their term.  Students can learn more about each state’s program and apply at MidwestDairy.com. Applications are due by December 15, 2024, and selected ambassadors will be notified before January 10, 2025.
