Midwest Dairy and DMI scholarships available to college students

Midwest Dairy is committed to fostering dairy advocacy and developing the next generation of dairy leaders by offering scholarships to students from dairy farms or studying dairy-related majors. Scholarship eligibility and awards vary by state and region; keep reading to learn what is available in your state and region and to learn more about qualifications and deadlines.

  • Illinois: Five $1,000 educational scholarships are available. The online application process must be completed by March 1, 2025.
  • Iowa: Eleven $1,000 educational scholarships are available. The online application process must be completed by March 1, 2025.
  • Minnesota: More than $3,000 in scholarships are available at the University of Minnesota CFANS, and two $1,200 scholarships are available at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
  • MoKan: Two $1,000 and eight $500 scholarships are available. The online application process must be completed by March 15, 2025.
  • Nebraska: Three $500, two $1,000, and one $1,500 scholarship are available. The online application process must be completed by March 1, 2025.
  • North Dakota: One $1,000 scholarship is available through North Dakota State University.
  • Ozarks: Four $750 scholarships are available. The online application process must be completed by March 15, 2025.
  • South Dakota: Scholarships are available annually to students studying at the South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota.

National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB) Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Up to 11 $2,500 scholarships are available to eligible undergraduate students (rising sophomore through senior) enrolled in a college or university program emphasizing dairy. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, an interest in a career in a dairy-related discipline, and demonstrated leadership, initiative, and integrity. Candidates must complete an application form, submit a transcript of all college courses, and write a short statement describing their career aspirations, dairy-related activities, and work experiences.

National Dairy Shrine Scholarships

Eleven scholarship opportunities are provided to encourage college and university students to pursue careers in dairy- or food-related majors. These major areas can include Dairy Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Education, General Education, and Food and Nutrition. Awards are based on experience, ability, and interests in dairy/product marketing. Co-sponsored with Dairy Management Inc. Application Deadline is April 15.
