Midwest Dairy announces new Chief Operating Officer

St. Paul, Minn. – Midwest Dairy, the checkoff organization representing over 4,000 dairy farmers in a ten-state region, announced that Sara Thomas of Jordan, Minn., has been named its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Thomas has a diverse industry background with extensive experience supporting business growth through strategy development.

Thomas began her role with Midwest Dairy on March 24, 2025. As COO, she will provide overall leadership and direction to Midwest Dairy operations to drive the execution of Midwest Dairy’s strategic plan.

Her extensive experience and proven leadership will be invaluable as we navigate the future of Midwest Dairy,” said Corey Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Dairy. “Together, we will continue to strengthen our commitment to serving the dairy industry and enhancing our operations.”

Before joining Midwest Dairy, Thomas worked as a Principal Consultant at Foundational Executives, assisting businesses in improving efficiency and streamlining operations as a fractional COO. Previously, she was the COO of AHT Inc. and the Director of Finance and Operations at LL Holdings. In these roles, she oversaw financial strategy and managed operations across multiple businesses, leading teams, and driving revenue growth.

Thomas received her Executive MBA from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Business and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She also serves on the Board of Directors for her family’s charitable foundation, implementing strategy and creating awareness of their mission.
