In 2024, Midwest Dairy is partnering with the Nebraska Alliance for Conservation and Environmental Education (NACEE), which strives to meet the needs of Nebraska’s conservation and environmental education providers through coordination, promotion, and education. Through this partnership, Midwest Dairy sponsored the Nebraska Environmental Education Conference, held at Ponca State Park in Ponca, Nebraska, in late February. This conference targeted both formal and non-formal educators and others in Nebraska dedicated to elevating environmental education efforts across the state.
At the conference, Midwest Dairy set up a table by registration where attendees could spin the wheel to test their dairy knowledge, earn a prize, and get information on the dairy industry’s sustainability story. There were 88 people registered for the conference, enabling Midwest Dairy staff to network with sustainability thought leaders, educators, and individuals associated with the STEM and science programs. Midwest Dairy shared sustainability practices from dairy farmers and available STEM resources. This event provided a great opportunity to share what the dairy industry is doing to provide nutritious and sustainable products and help grow trust with key thought leaders in Nebraska.
